About

I am a cinematographer based in Chicago, Illinois. I have shot mostly narrative films, commercials, and documentaries, but am not limited to these formats. Though my passion is in narrative filmmaking, I never overlook opportunities in other methods of storytelling. I love the improvisation often needed to shoot documentaries, and working with clients to make commercials to market their small businesses and town governments.

My cinematography credits include the “Living Nightmares” series of horror shorts, the spec pilot, “High School Yearbook with Bella,” and the feature film, “Party Favors.” I have also produced and directed the short documentary, “City within a City: Building the Watergate.” I have shot over a dozen commercials for a variety of businesses, including American Refining Group, the longest running oil refinery in the U.S., several dentists, an auction house, a large school system in Depew New York, and have shot marketing videos for towns and cities.

As a director of photography, I believe any character’s thought or emotion can be translated into an image, even if that means shooting in a way outside of the norm. I live for sets that allow me to prepare with the director beforehand, and really nail down how we want to shoot the project. I never want to force my own will onto the shoot, but rather help the director think of the most visually resonant way to bring his or vision to life.

I am willing to travel wherever I am needed to shoot a job, and have shot footage in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Florida, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and New York. I have also traveled to Australia, Fiji, Bora Bora, New Caledonia, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Western Caribbean.
